DARROZE 1985 DOMAINE DE DUPONT VINTAGE

Mauléon d’Armagnac—gers, 6 hectares planted completely to St.-Emilion (ugni Blanc), the chief cognac grape. As with saint Aubin, the soil is tawny colored and sandy (sables fauves), and it is aged in new white oak (local chêne blanc). The style, however, is very different from Saint Aubin, as the Dupont family prefers a lower distillation strength, a maximum of 106°, and the ugni Blanc grape has a far less pronounced character than the Bacco. Domaine Dupont eaux-de-vie is less full-blown and rounded than those of the Bacco, but is refined and distinguished with a strong bouquet. Highly recommended by spirits experts worldwide.
